Why would you ever do normal ‘team building’, when you can do it with purpose.

February 9, 2017

In December it’s a common time for reflection and thinking about others…

At Volume48 we had such a busy month, and I thought I should share with you just one example of an activity we’ve been up to; it’s hard to stay in the social media game when you’re busy, but I do believe it is important to sing and shout sometimes!

We’ve had so many success stories recently, it’s a little overwhelming! From sight guiding, elderly friending, creating art, and even singing (literally!) – We’ve been working with some truly wonderful businesses, charities and people, But I thought I’d share the latest one with you all. I’ll try and share a few more of them over the weeks.

In just one of our sessions we had:

8 boxes of ingredients due for the bin supplied by the amazing City Harvest amongst other places
38 Ambitious amateur cooks from Unilever
1.5 hours of cooking time

The Result?

172 meals created and packaged up
3 deliveries to different centres for those in need, receiving the delicious and nutritious meals

Everyone supporting FoodCycle, helping them continue their amazing work preventing social isolation and food poverty across the country.
We saw Brilliant Teamwork, Amazing Community Work, Awesome efforts which were greatly appreciated by Everyone.

It’s all a bit congratulatory I know, but I just wanted to share what honest, repeatable and sustainable Employee Engagement and CSR for business looks like. It’s such fun and so rewarding for all involved, and if you get the chance I really recommend jumping at it – great work to all. As always, I’m very happy to chat about it if it’s something you fancy too!

Now we’re well into 2017 and away from Christmas – let’s not forget to keep supporting those who are less fortunate!
